Tie Dye My Life

Remember the days of tie died shirts, pants, bags, and flags? I sported a tie dye wardrobe when I was younger, I thought it was absolutely fantastic! Because of this obsession, and my love for cupcakes, I was inspired to try something new (for me at least). The tie dye cupcake ladies and gents, I have done it and man is it good. Really simple to do and so much fun.
All you need to do is colour the batter that your using and scoop the different colours, in layers, into the cupcake cup.
Check out the results,
these are the little darlings cooking

All done baking, fun colours!

Breaking Into Song

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in high school musical?
While sitting in Rocks class today with Single Betty our professor Cam started singing:
Bye bye miss american pie drove the chevy to the levee but the levee was dry...
He finished the whole song and the class joined in, in what I would like to call a high school musical moment. Betty joined in.. I more or less just sat there humming in my head as I have a fear of public humiliation.
Great singing Betty

Have you ever had a high school musical moment?

Just When You Think No One Is Looking

Have you ever seen someone do something strange? Maybe it's because they thought no one was looking. Today on the bus, I saw a guy fixing his hair in the black screen of his PSP. Not really embarrassing, but really rather strange!
This can also go along with when people pick their nose in the car, or even worse...the sidelines of a football game.
I know sometime when no one is looking I
-bust out dancing in my kitchen.
-Drink from the orange juice carton
-jump on my bed
- annoy the cat
- drive too fast
- eat the pillsbury ready to bake cookies right out of the fridge
- push my glasses up like Urkle right in the middle
- read my betty crocker cookbook
-read http://singlebetty.blogspot.com <- this one is awesome!

What do you do when no one is looking?

Manly Men

Have you ever seen a guy carrying a purse? This stunning phenomenon is now refereed to as a murse (man purse).  On my way to class I saw a guy with a murse and I didn't know how to take it. I really prefer men to have a backpack for class, not a purse...
This just looks like a man holding his wife's purse. But by all means men if you want a purse go for it...
I find that men aren't being men anymore, they have decided to do silly things like get peck implants, or pedicures, even manicures. Really men this is just wrong.
I need a hunting, fishing, hiking, canoeing, manly man, not a man who sits in a spa all day while I am out fishing and canoeing.
Brad Paisley illustrates my point quite well.. take a listen!

What Is Your Life's Blueprint?

A few weeks ago someone read this to me and I thought it was awesome, I hope you like it as much as I do.

Six months before he was assassinated, Martin Luther King Jr. spoke to a group of students at Barratt Junior High School in Philadelphia on October 26, 1967.

I want to ask you a question, and that is: What is your life's blueprint?

Whenever a building is constructed, you usually have an architect who draws a blueprint, and that blueprint serves as the pattern, as the guide, and a building is not well erected without a good, solid blueprint.

Now each of you is in the process of building the structure of your lives, and the question is whether you have a proper, a solid and a sound blueprint.

I want to suggest some of the things that should begin your life's blueprint. Number one in your life's blueprint, should be a deep belief in your own dignity, your worth and your own somebodiness. Don't allow anybody to make you fell that you're nobody. Always feel that you count. Always feel that you have worth, and always feel that your life has ultimate significance.

Secondly, in your life's blueprint you must have as the basic principle the determination to achieve excellence in your various fields of endeavor. You're going to be deciding as the days, as the years unfold what you will do in life — what your life's work will be. Set out to do it well.

And I say to you, my young friends, doors are opening to you--doors of opportunities that were not open to your mothers and your fathers — and the great challenge facing you is to be ready to face these doors as they open.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, the great essayist, said in a lecture in 1871, "If a man can write a better book or preach a better sermon or make a better mousetrap than his neighbor, even if he builds his house in the woods, the world will make a beaten path to his door."

This hasn't always been true — but it will become increasingly true, and so I would urge you to study hard, to burn the midnight oil; I would say to you, don't drop out of school. I understand all the sociological reasons, but I urge you that in spite of your economic plight, in spite of the situation that you're forced to live in — stay in school.

And when you discover what you will be in your life, set out to do it as if God Almighty called you at this particular moment in history to do it. don't just set out to do a good job. Set out to do such a good job that the living, the dead or the unborn couldn't do it any better.

If it falls your lot to be a street sweeper, sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures, sweep streets like Beethoven composed music, sweep streets like Leontyne Price sings before the Metropolitan Opera. Sweep streets like Shakespeare wrote poetry. Sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will have to pause and say: Here lived a great street sweeper who swept his job well. If you can't be a pine at the top of the hill, be a shrub in the valley. Be be the best little shrub on the side of the hill.

Be a bush if you can't be a tree. If you can't be a highway, just be a trail. If you can't be a sun, be a star. For it isn't by size that you win or fail. Be the best of whatever you are.

This Little Piggy Went To Market.

Have you ever been driving down the road and had a truck full of pigs (or cows) come up beside you? The pigs all have their little snouts sticking out of the ventilation holes of the truck.
Personally I love bacon, I love ham, I love pork, however, when there is a truck full of oinkers driving down the highway I just feel bad inside. The poor pigs don't know - or I don't think they know - that they are headed to the slaughter house.
I was driving home today thinking about eating a big ol' bacon sandwich and seeing the piggies threw me off a little from this favorite brenner (breakfast for dinner = brenner) idea.
I guess they were raised for the purpose of food. Thanks little piggies.

Betty Crocker You Make Me Better

Do you love trying out new recipes? Searching online for something new to try?
I love to experiment and try making new things in the kitchen. My whole family knows that I love to cook, to bake, and to experiment in the kitchen.
This year for Christmas and I have said in my previous post "the little things" it's awesome when your family knows you perfectly that they know what the BEST Christmas present is. My Grandpa and Grandma got me a cookbook by Betty Crocker that is packed full of different fun and exciting recipes; from various egg recipes to different types of cakes, to holiday focused recipes.
If you want to dazzle your friends and family this is a cookbook that I suggest.
Just thought I would share one of my favorites!
